Length of title and description

In terms of SEO does it matter how long are your page title and description? Although I won’t suggest that you create inordinately long titles and descriptions, if you have something really meaningful to say and you’re not simply stuffing keywords, I don’t think the length adversely affects your SEO. You are advised to create shorter page titles and descriptions because beyond a certain length they cannot be read in the search engine listings. For instance, in a title Google reads up to 66 characters and in description there should not be more than 160 characters.

Even your browser is incapable of showing more than a certain number of characters in the title bar.

So if you are planning to write a bit longer titles and descriptions, just make sure that the important part — the part people can make sense of — appears within the advised character length limit.
