For instance, in a title Google reads up to 66 characters and in description there should not be more than 160 characters.
Even your browser is incapable of showing more than a certain number of characters in the title bar.
So if you are planning to write a bit longer titles and descriptions, just make sure that the important part — the part people can make sense of — appears within the advised character length limit.
