The difference between content marketing and content strategy is the way you implement both the activities and the direction they take. Strategy, as the name suggests, is more cerebral, whereas, actual action takes place when you start marketing.
Content marketing is especially a boon for hard-working entrepreneurs who don’t have much money to invest in conventional advertising. It is much easier to implement and sustain over a long period of time and even the results are long-lasting compared to conventional advertising and marketing.
It so happens sometimes that I cannot turn down some low-paying content writing assignments. It is not that I am running out of work; I feel those clients can really use my services and they actually understand the worth of what I can provide. This makes a big difference.
A big part of content marketing strategy is regularly coming up with great writing ideas. They don’t just pop up the moment you sit down and start writing. You already need to have them so that when you’re writing you know what to write about. Having an editorial calendar helps. What also helps is maintaining an ideas file.
